JUDAICA AS TRASH

Subject: Judaica as "trash"

I was repulsed to see that, in the August 12, 2006 paper, the Courant promoted an upcoming article on "Trash Goes Upscale" by depicting, as an example of such "trash", a pocket watch embossed with a Star of David.

Here's the relevant question for the editors to ponder:  Would the Courant have utilized, as an example of "upscale trash", a crucifix embossed with an image of Jesus, or a locket embossed with an image of al-Aksa Mosque?

Such gross insensitivity to Jews, coupled with the Courant's vacuous editorials denigrating Israel's right to defend itself against Islamo-fascist belligerents, simply reinforces the feeling of many Jews that the Courant is itself the quintessential example of "(low-scale) trash".
